FURNITURE SHIPPING OPTIONS

FURNITURE SHIPPING- "CURBSIDE DELIVERY":

Furniture will ship to you and be delivered to the curbside of your home.  The freight carrier will contact you to schedule an appointment.  A person who is physically able to remove the items from the truck will need to be present at the home.  If you would like to have the furniture carried to the room of your choice, we recommend that you select.  If you select free in-store pickup, then change the shipping address to your home in  order to get free shipping without a coupon, you will be contacted to pay shipping or your order will be cancelled.   

"IN ROOM & UNPACKAGE."   All of this applies to customers who do not live within 2 hour radius of our distribution center in Pittsburgh. 

FURNITURE SHIPPING: 2 HOUR RADIUS OF PITTSBURGH DISTRIBUTION CENTER

Furniture will ship to you and be delivered to the curbside of your home.  You will be provided a date and 8 hour window, and you will not have a choice on that date.  If you cannot be present at the home during the date provided: 1. you will be asked to pick up your furniture, and a coupon other than "free shipping" can be used where applicable, or 2. you may pay $100 to schedule a time, or 3. you may pay for delivery and setup and a coupon other than "free shipping" can be used where applicable

FURNITURE SHIPPING:  "IN ROOM & UNPACKAGE"

This option enables you to have the furniture to be brought into the room of your choice and unpackaged, along with assembly of all items excluding cribs, and bunk beds.  Coupons are not allowed in conjunction with this feature.  The rate for "In Room & Unpackage" is already discounted to reflect what curbside shipping would have normally been.   (example: if shipping is $200, and in room is $349, the actual charge for in room is 200 + 349, 549, and we are simply discounting it to reflect a free shipping coupon, which really is a 200 discount on the in room delivery service).  If you use a discount coupon and select in room, your coupon will be removed, and the additional monies will need to be paid. 

DELIVERY & SETUP- Pittsburgh Only:

If you live within two hours of our national showroom in Pittsburgh, our team offers delivery and set up service for an additional charge.   If you live outside of that range, we recommend that you contact a local moving company for rates.  Then contact us, and we can ship the product to the moving company instead of you.    Delivery & Setup in Pittsburgh will occur on a date and time of our choice.  If the date and time of our choice, does not work for you, we will provide you with an alternative within 2 weeks.  If that time does not work for you, we will provide another alternative within an additional 2 weeks.   

FREIGHT SURCHARGES:

Some items have a freight surcharge.  This surcharge applies to items that require extra care when shipping.  You may have a freight surcharge waived if your order exceeds $1500, provided that your entire order ships complete, and provided that you did not use any coupons except a free shipping coupon, or if you select "In Room & Unpackage".  You must call to place your order, as our system does not allow for freight surcharges to be waived.  Free shipping coupons will not apply to the freight surcharge.  If you do not select "Ship to Home" prior to adding a product to your cart that has a freight surcharge, you will be contacted and asked to pay the freight surcharge, or your order may be cancelled. 

FURNITURE LEAD TIMES:

Order lead times are just estimates, and do not represent guarantees.  They are estimated to be 95% accurate.  Small delays are an inherent part of the special order furniture business.  Furniture orders have a 4.5% chance of a two week delay.  We recommend that you allow yourself an extra two weeks before you need the furniture item.  Nightstands and conversion kits have the highest chance of delays.  We do not compensate and give discounts for delays.  We rely solely on the information given by the manufacturers, and they may not provide us advance notice of a delay, unless it is going to be more than two weeks late.   We have been providing furniture for 25 years, and are confident in our projections.

ORDER FULLFILLMENT:

Your furniture order will only ship when complete.   This applies to key items.  Conversion kits that are on backorder will ship separately, and you will not be charged for shipping provided that you used a free shipping coupon.  If you did not use a free shipping coupon, you will pay separate shipping charges for the conversion kit shipment.  Example of an order with varying lead times:  You purchase an item that is 4-6 weeks, and an item that is 8-10 weeks.  Your order will ship in 8-10 weeks.  As free shipping coupons are limit one per customer, you cannot split your order to achieve two separate shipments. 

FURNITURE FREIGHT DAMAGES:

Freight damage will need to be reported to the freight carrier within 24 hours of receipt of the merchandise.  Please take the carrier’s information when they deliver the furniture to you so that you can contact them in the event that there is damage.

FURNITURE PICKUP IN PITTSBURGH:

If you have selected to pickup your items at our national showroom in Pittsburgh, we require 3 days advance notice prior to picking up your items.  

HOLDING ITEMS IN LAYWAY:

Not ready to take possession of your furniture? No problems.  We can hold items at our distribution centers for a maximum of nine months, after which point any monetary deposits given by you will be fortified.   

REGIONAL RESTRICTIONS:

We do not currently ship to Alaska or Hawaii.  We do not currently ship internationally.  If your order is processed due to an electronic error, your order will be cancelled and you will be refunded your money. 

 

REQUESTING ORDER STATUS:

Please click here for our order status form, which will result in the fastest response.  Instantaneous answers are not available.   This is because there are several pieces of information that need to be researched prior to determining when the furniture item will be received:  when will the manufacturer have the item, when is the trucking company coming to us, ect.  There is no system available to extract that information from these multiple sources automatically upon request, though belief in this type of system’s existence is common due to the fact that this exists on smaller items {usps/ups/fedex tracking numbers}.

NON-FURNITURE SHIPPING:

Non-furniture will be shipped via standard ground methods available from usps, ups, or fed ex.  These services typically range from 1 to 7 business days, and these lead times are included in the out of stock lead times given on your item description page. 

IN STOCK ITEMS:

In stock items will ship within 3 business days of your order being placed. 

ORDER LEAD TIMES FOR OUT OF STOCK STROLLERS & CAR SEATS:

We estimate that lead times for strollers & car seats are 99% accurate, and include time to ship to you, with a .8% chance of a 2 week delay.  We do not guarantee lead times, and do not discount or compensate for delays.   We rely solely on the information given by the manufacturers, and they may not provide us advance notice of a delay, unless it is going to be more than 2 weeks late.  We have been providing strollers & car seats for 25 years, and are confident in our projections.  

ORDER LEAD TIMES FOR OUT OF STOCK BEDDING, DÉCOR & BABY ESSENTIALS:

Due to the fact that we work with hundreds and hundreds of vendors, it is impossible for us to track the order lead times for every single item with 100% accuracy.  We estimate our order lead times to be 95% accurate.  The inventory level of each purchase will be verified after your order is placed, and you will be notified within 24 hours if there are any issues fulfilling your order in the original time estimated.   Whatever time frame you are given will be an estimate that has 99% accuracy.  There will be a 1% chance of a two week delay.  We do not guarantee lead times, and do not discount or compensate for delays.   We rely solely on the information given by the manufacturers, and they may not provide us advance notice of a delay, unless it is going to be more than two weeks late.  We have been providing baby items for 25 years, and are confident in our projections.
